Themes for the day

As a "stay at home" mom and wife, I have a tendency to get bored very easily.  Housework is not my #1 top priority and as I was in the work field for 33 years.  For me, this is sort of like retirement.  Yesterday I decided to start working on themes for each day that sort of correspond to what goes on that day.  Most of these things will depend on what is going on that day or appointments for that day.  This is what I have come up with:

Sunday will be a beach day; which means taking pictures and walking Dana Point Harbor or Newport Bach Bay.

Monday, I have to check in with ediets on my "weight loss".  I plan to get all the meat we need for the week. Possibly walk Oso Creek Trail, see what Farmer's Markets are around, and organize and clean the cabinets and refrigerator.

Tuesday is going to be Bible Study Day and counseling day.  I will also start looking for historic churches to take pics of.  Saddleback Church is having a Bible Study that I will be attending on Tuesday mornings while Mari is in school.  I plan to walk RSM lake and that is also a good place to do some reading.

Wednesday is work on the house day, as well as walk the hills around my house.  On the Wednesdays, the cleaning people do not come, I will vacuum.  It will be a day to change our bed.  I need to get new curtains for our room, so that will be done this next week.  I will look for historic homes and architecture.

Thursday is Meals on Wheels day.  Another day to walk RSM Lake, as well as get the car washed and cleaned out.  Take pictures of old railroad stations.  What other kinds of transportation can I take pics of.

Friday is museum and taking care of financial stuff day.  I will look at what is at MOCA, LACMA, Getty Center and other museums.  Today we are going to San Dimas to a railroad museum.

Saturday will be getting out and working on my National Register of Historic places.  One nice thing about doing this list, is that there are other places usually in the area to explore and take pictures of.

Many of the places I go, I plan to do picture books.

Organizing-My morning routine

This is something I have always wanted to do was help others get organized, so I decided to write about it instead and I will start with my day.  I am usually up somewhere between 6 and 6:30 seven days a week.  Rory has a coffee maker in our bedroom and I usually make it to the point where all I have to do is push the button.  Then I weigh myself and take a shower.  I get dressed and help Rory do his vitals, which he is supposed to do every day.  After that I go downstairs and feed the cat and change her water.  I file things from a pile I have in my office.  Log in my weight in my journal that I have on my desk.  I try to write down things that I need to remember to do that day.  I try to write them down as I go through the previous day.  I fill my two water bottles and light the candle I have on the breakfast bar.  If I was not the one to do dishes the night before, I clean the counters and the top of the stove.  Make sure Rory has four Perrier bottles in the refrigerator and he has all his soda cans in the refrigerator.  He wants sodas in the refrigerator four hours before he uses them.  Then I take out the trash and clean out the cat box and put away anything that is on top of the kitchen table.  I also start Rory's tray.  Two days a week, I put the newspapers in the trash.  Change Sweet Pea's water bowl in Mari's bathroom and water certain plants on the patio.  Turn on the weather channel and my computer and then I start getting Rory's and my breakfast together.  This probably takes me about an hour to an hour and a half from the time I get up to the time I start breakfast.  More to come!

Having a routine, I have found is very helpful

May 13, 2011

Living with two aspies, a man with OCD and a narcissist. My husband is an aspie, a man with OCD and a narcissist. My day starts off with having to have the coffee maker done ahead of time, so he can have his coffee made in our room. I hadn't slept very well as I was not relaxed when I went to bed. From there I took my shower and while I was trying to take a shower, Rory is talking to me and I cannot understand him. Of course he has to check the automatic unemployment number to see when his unemployment check is coming. He worked last night and called me to tell me he did not feel good, which is normal. We did not do his vitals as he was too tired. He was watching the stock market and "Card Sharks. He had probably come to bed between 12 and 1 and got up at 6:30. I got ready and he was telling me about the prisoner he was guarding last night. Went downstairs and did my routine. Trying to get Rory on a new food plan, where he might lose weight. I made cereal with yogurt and berries. He told me he can not eat cereal without milk. I had put yogurt in the cereal. Isn't that dairy? Oh well, don't argue, just do. Made a point several times that he wanted to see the mail before he left, if it was there. He got text and I had to go up and read it, as he has no clue how to read a text or send back a copy on his cell phone. I left at 11 to go have lunch with a friend and will not see him until he gets home tonight. He called me tonight and said he was working tomorrow. Wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch tomorrow, but it cannot be sugar free jelly. Will have to go to the store before he leaves.

Something new

This is something new to me. I will see where this goes and how this works.
